Technology Manager / Associate Director, Next Generation Genomics Facility Posted on November 8th 2013
The Next Generation Genomics Facility (NGGF) is a state-of-the-art Genomics facility that was established in 2011at the Bangalore BioCluster, to provide scientific support to biological research groups in India. More details of the facility is available at www.ccamp.res.in/NGS-Genomics
Applicants should posses Ph.D. degree in a life sciences domain with minimum 3-5 years of post-Ph.D. experience in the field of NGS and Bioinformatics (NGS data analysis). They are expected to be familiar with various applications of NGS with special emphasis on wet lab research and NGS data analysis. A sound experience in handling (minimum 1 year of hands-on) different types of NGS platforms instruments and associated sequencing software is expected. It would be a desirable selection criteria if the candidate has prior facility management/operations experience; either in academia or in industry. Excellent customer/client communication skills are essential to assist in various service requests.
The selected candidate would be expected to work with the Facility Director in leading day-to-day activities of NGS and Bioinformatics team, including library preparation, sequencing and working with Bioinformatics team on NGS data management. Also, the candidate will need to network internally and externally to understand project goals, engage with scientists on the topic of NGS and build relationships with users. We expect candidate to be a team player and become an integral member of the Bangalore Bio-cluster organizations to enable national and international interactions.
