CCAMP-BIP Academic Programme
Comprising of
Certificate Course In Entrepreneurship in Bio Medical Innovations
Inter Institutional (hands on) Innovation Programme

What will CCAMP-BIP Academic Programmes address?

India’s effort to create an Atma Nirbhar Bharat derives its strength from  a vibrant start up culture based on its intelligent, motivated work-force and the financial support of Government grants and venture funding. However,

  1. There is a paucity of structured courses for professionals on the entire gamut of challenges in Entrepreneurship in the Bio Innovation domain from idea to market.
  2. In the Health sector the need to form cohesive teams between multiple specialities, problem identification and solution development together as a team is an unrecognized challenge and hence unresolved. The cross specialization dialogue issue is not addressed  in the largely memory and exam oriented focus of Indian academia.
  3. Most innovations emerging from India utilize simple linear thinking within a single speciality framework. Complex devices and processes which require multi speciality involvement and have an unmet need in the market are often unaddressed.

What is the proposed framework?

CCAMP Bio Medical Innovations Academic Programme combines

  1.  A Didactic Entrepreneurship Course in Bio Medical Innovations
  2.  An Inter-Institutional Bio Medical Innovation Programme which will adopt a practical hands-on approach by encouraging interaction between Engineering, medical graduates and post graduates extending ultimately to involve STEM, Design and Management students.

What differentiates it from other Programmes in the Bio Innovation Space?

Programmes in the Bio Medical Innovations fall into categories such as –

  1.  Bio Innovations programmes of various incubators, which accept teams into curated programmes with funding support
  2. Atal incubation centres and Tinkering laboratories

The CCAMP-BIP programme is different because it seeks to address primarily the lack of a structured course in Entrepreneurship and the lack of a dialogue between specialities.

Teams which arise out of such dialogue can then verify their ideas at the Atal incubation centres and Tinkering laboratories, and if suitable for going to market can see funding from preexisting funding programmes of the DBT, or the Angel investors and Venture capital pool in this ecosystem.

The programme aims to twin the medical and engineering colleges, with geographical proximity being the prime deciding factor and ensure that regular meetings are possible between the team members to allow bonding and iterative discussion

This programme, while raising awareness of this new space will systematise interaction, create mutual respect and collaborations across disciplines, and train a new group of industry ready professionals who are problem solvers and creative, instead of depending on known facts and ideas.

What is the overall goal of the programme ?

VISION - To promote seamless integration of the bio medical innovation process within standard curriculum in Indian universities by encouraging cross-specialisation ideation. To educate potential entrepreneurs in this space about the process of taking an idea to market , as a multi speciality team .

  • To set up an Inter Institutional, Inter speciality Academic programme in the field of bio medical innovations, both as a course and a practical multi speciality team problem solving approach
  • To encourage Inter disciplinary dialogue between medical, Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy, and Science colleges at the first stage, and then other educational institutions such as the social sciences, humanities, art and design and management institutes.
  • To expose potential entrepreneurs to the steps, procedures and pitfalls of this  interdisciplinary methodology of the innovation process to take an idea to market, via a structured course.

  • Didactic and Process oriented  teaching on how Bio Innovations are done
  • Practical hands-on development of products to encourage students
  • The benefits of the iterative interaction between the stake holders will be emphasized .
  • The importance of cross specialisation team creation is highlighted
  • Team interaction is encouraged and Team bonding is learnt experientially.
