Course Overview:
Flow Cytometry is one of the most powerful single cell analysis methods used through the life sciences and medicine. Utilizing Flow Cytometry we can identify and quantify different cells from heterogeneous samples, analyze the corresponding state of proliferation or simply detech the expression of fluorescent reporters.
In this course we will cover the basic principles of Flow Cytometry and link the theory with few of the most commonly used assays.
Outcomes:
After completing this program participants will be able to
- Describe the basic principles of flow cytometry
- Understand the technical details and software requirements for designing flow cytometry protocols for research and diagnostic purposes
- Explain the use of flow cytometry in few common research and clinical applications including cell cycle, apoptosis and immunophenotyping
