The C-CAMP Office Of Technology Transfer (OTT) has announced a session on the "Commercialization of Academic Inventions" as a part of C-CAMP IP Webinar Series.

Speaker: Dr. Richard S. Cahoon, Former Director of Tech Transfer Office, Cornell University
 
Speaker Profile: Richard Cahoon was Director of technology transfer at Cornell University for 20 years. While at Cornell, Dr. Cahoon was responsible for the IP and technology transfer policies and operations of the University. He managed the commercialization/licensing of hundreds of IP-based technologies and successfully negotiated a similar number of license agreements, research contracts, inter-institutional agreements, and many other contracts for Cornell. He supervised over 35 professional and administrative staff. He is an inventor/patentee. He advises World Bank, companies, universities, governments, and non-profit organizations on IP, technology transfer and commercialization policies and practices. He has an M.S. in Bioprocessing from Montana State, and a PhD from Cornell in Natural Resources.
 
The talk will focus on how to commercialize academic inventions and how an academician can actively facilitate the process in a lab setting.
